We stayed there so long that they finally had to start turning the stadium lights off and asking everyone to leave. Mark Lemke came out of the dugout and sprayed fans with champagne. I had to go to work the next day and I had ZERO voice. Ahhh, memories.

Sam GregoryCabrera had a terrible game in April of this same season with the Richmond Braves, struck out with bases loaded twice, dropped two perfect throws to home plate. Asked about his play in that game by a reporter, his answer was ”maybe I’ll make up for it with a big hit later this season”. Oh well this was it. And yes, I was at that game in Richmond.

Susan Caraway StricklandMy then fiancé and I were watching the game, while unpacking at our brand new apartment. While on our honeymoon just a couple weeks later (in the Poconos), we took a day trip to the BB Hall of Fame. As we walk in the door, this play and Skip's "Braves Win, Braves Win" is what's playing on the TV Monitors. Felt right at home, even in Cooperstown!! We're celebrating our 25th anniversary on Halloween day!

David LandrumA little side note: Bream had been working with Smoltz on building a relationship with The Lord Jesus. He and Pena would make sure John had memorized his bible verses when they would get on the plane. I herd this testimony while at a church in between Villa Rica and Carrollton three yrs ago. It was there I got the call my brother had passed. We both love watching the Braves in the 80s-90s. Those bad yrs made the good yrs even better.

Mark Englishspeaking of trades - who did we get for future hall of famer Craig Kimbrel? Carlos Quentin (scrap heap, we got him in Apr 2015 and in May 2015, he announced his retirement - THAST what we got for a future hall of famer)) and Cameron Maybin (.267 hitter for the Braves, not horrible but we need better hitters than that). AND we traded him after a year - good job, front office!)

Braves Exercise Contract Option on Brian Snitker:

John DembowskiSo everyone thinks that taking a young team and giving them a third manager in three years is a good idea? Was Bartolo Colon Snitker's fault? Was the lack of a bullpen his fault? If the Braves had fired Snitker, they would be the MLB equivalent of the Cleveland Browns. No one would have done better with this roster. The team wanted him back also. This was the best move especially with the front office issues.

Edward ChangI don't have a problem with this. One of the worst things you can have is a manager who doesn't have the support of the players. The Braves' problems are more organizational than they are the result of a manager. If the players want Snit, let them have him.

Matt BurksAt this point, I'm far more concerned by the reports that Schuerholz wants to bring in Dayton Moore to groom his son for the GM job. Just what this franchise needs, a big dose of nepotism. The best thing Schuerholz could do for the Braves at this point is to RETIRE, and take Bobby Cox with him. It's way past time they accepted that they are NEVER going to recreate the glory days (which weren't even that glorious due to winning only ONE championship). Time for some new, fresh leadership who won't focus on the past, and instead focus on the future.

Dell WinklesOur fanbase is horrible. Very few understand how to build a team. The Yankees used to use their own farm system to build during their heyday. They changed over and bought free agents and lost for years. They went back to basics and won again. The Braves are starting back to what made them good for 15 years. Buying multiple free agents doesn't work most of the time. We have young pitching that needs a chance. Be patient!!!!

Brian MillerThe option that needs to be exercised is on the GM and director of baseball operations, for incredibly horrible trades! In the 90’s the Braves had pitching and hitting! Any true Braves fan knows who the pitchers were! Trouble is they are still trying to win on pitching alone! I’m not 💯% sure but I think over the past 2 seasons they have been either shut out or beat by several runs more than any other team in the league! Spend some money and equally build offense and a solid pitching staff!

Gary BessThis means nothing! If they had faith in him they would have extended his contract for 3 years. He’s a lame duck manager at the mercy of the front office. If they don’t get serious about putting a contending team on the field, I don’t care who you hire as manager, they will fail.

Joey StanleyI wish Liberty Media would resign as owners, too. Can you imagine if we had Steinbrenner money with the baseball minds of Schuerholz and Hart? Well, Liberty media probably has more money than the Steinbrenner's, but they're much more stingy with it.

Tim GriffithsPeople don’t seem to understand how a rebuild goes. You don’t spend a year doing it. It takes years. You stock pile young talent. Pitching, and position players. Do they all pan out? Of course not. For every Mike Trout there is a one year wonder. We have stock piled young arms . We have the number 5 prospect in all of baseball in Ronald Acuna. He’s going to be a good one people. Speed and power and a great defensive center Fiedler. We got Kevin Maitan in the low minors. Big bodied short stop. Could possible shift to third if he outgrows short stop. Albies has second on lockdown. I think Dansby will figure it out. He’s 23 . It’s not like he’s 28. We have about 5 pitchers in the top 100 prospects in all of baseball. No other team has as many players in the top 100 as we do. I like where we are as an organization. Let’s get these guys up and let them learn at the highest level. Some are ready now. Acuna for NL ROY 2018

Louie AbdouKeep in mind ....Atlanta Braves are not owed by anyone local with ties to Our City. Our franchise is owned by Big Business..Liberty Media. Professional Sports should be mandated that ownership should have local ties to the City they represent...Then you will have management that will care about the product on the playing field. Look at the ownership of every successful professional team..

Aongelic ObieNow if we can get John Hart out and get an ownership that actually cares about the game, Braves baseball will be a happy place again. We had many losing seasons under Ted Turners ownership, but we knew he cared about the game and the fans. He didn't trade away every player as if it were a game of checkers. As it is, we can't get attached to any one and the players can't form any bonds to develop the chemistry it takes to build a great team.

Matt ScottI love that people seem to have this idea that the Braves were once big spenders....they were not. Most all of their talent back in the heyday was raised in our farm system. Want to know where things went wrong? It was the fact that the Braves tried to hold on to their relevancy too long...they sacrificed draft picks and minor leaguers for supposed "big name" talent. How'd that work out? mmhmmm

Jeff CoddingtonI'm a die hard Braves fan til the day I perish from this Earth...the Braves can finish dead last or near the bottom of the barrel in the NL, they will still be my favorite team in baseball!! Changes had to be made, and it started in the front office...other than getting Justin Upton from Arizona, what significant moves did Frank Wren do that were positive? Yeah... Despite that, John Hart stepped in, quite admirably I might add, and shook up the way we sought the Bravos to be... bad contracts and non so character players had to be shipped out as well as FA's to be, and with all that minor league talent coming back in our direction, we have the best minor league system in the bigs! The sun will rise in Atlanta again and postseason baseball will return!

Gene RoseThank God this season is over. Going into the last two series against the Mets & Marlins, teams they can beat, I was pretty positive about things but now not so much. I hope they trade Matt Kemp and completely overhaul the pitching, both the starters and the bullpen, during the off-season. I hope they don't bring any more washed up bums in, like Colon, and then diguise it by calling them "innings-eaters". Seriously, the pitching is horrible and they've got to make some major changes right there. I'm OK with bringing back Snitker as Head Coach and keeping most of the position players.
