Robert P KendriganOrioles have dug a hole.. If they play .550 ball the remainder of the season they're looking at 85ish wins. that's probably 3 or 4 games shy of the bottom wild card spot. .600 ball is about 90 wins. which is maybe the top wild card spot. .650 ball is about 95 wins.. Given the pitching situation I'm not sure they're going to rise to .600 ball or higher.. but we'll see hopefully the bad mojo is behind them..

It's like he's pitching to conserve energy while rarely making it past the 5th. When he's on he could be one of leagues best - we'll probably let him go & he'll be a Cy Young contender. I wish him luck tonight & hope he can begin to turn it around.

Sami BoulabhaireIt's going to be tough but it's far from over! Yankees and Red Sox are all but untouchable! Don't forget O's miss Chris Davis, JJ Hardy and Zach Britton; when Britton comes back, we will have Brad Brach more frequently! The only thing we need is starting pitchers to get back on track. They have the talent, but they lack confidence. Maybe a trade or two for SP is necessary but we're only five games away from the lead

William HeraldThe Orioles have a good offense, but can ANY offense score enough to overcome such an ATROCIOUS pitching staff? In this series alone, the Rays have come to bat in 22 innings and they have scored 23 runs ... and most Orioles fans already know how bad the pitching had been coming into this series. And Tillman left today's game with a horrible 8.39 ERA.

Avatar

Bill KatzianerWhy didn't Tillman pitch yesterday and Bundy pitch today? This staff deserves to own that record and not simply share it. It's a shame really. I thought that they could pull it off. It's funny how they are already starting a new 5 or more runs in a game record. You would think that Tillman would be inspired to pitch well given the somewhat strong outing by Bundy? Nope. Garbage instead.

Avatar

Jeff HobbsThe key today (if it wasn't obvious) is Tillman getting a much needed quality start and the bats finding Odorizzi early and often. He's (odorizzi) been getting better but gives up HRs in every start. I give us a 50/50 chance of winning the series. Unfortunately, if Tillman leaves early then we are looking at a rout given the arms available in the pen. Fingers crossed that Chris has gotten it together.

Carol CleavelandDon't blame Buck. The issue here is the sorriest pitching I've ever seen. We're constantly behind. Hard to win against a decent pitcher when you give up, at minimum, 5 runs.

Jim StudebakerMancini is extremely impressive! All the signs of a star! Love his determined low key attitude And can do attitude..a real baseball player....think we will be wishing Chris wasn't signed at huge numbers.

Jeff BeckerI so like this young man and he looks like a player this franchise could build their future around. They should think about locking him up to a long term contract before he becomes too expensive for their standards.
