Alex OjedaSeattle has used 16 different starting pitchers, Baltimore has kept Miley, Tillman and Ubaldo in the rotation and collectively they've posted an ERA over 5.50, take 'em out of the rotation, Baltimore would be either in 2nd place or 1st in the division.

Congratulations to Manny Machado, named the American League Player of the Week for August 14-20! #Birdland

Machado batted .385/.370/.885 (10-for-26) with a double, four home runs, four runs, and 12 RBI over six games during the week of 8/14-20.

Among AL leaders, Machado finished first in RBI, tied for 1st in home runs, 2nd in total bases (23), & tied for 2nd in extra base hits (5).

He hit 2 grand slams; 3 this month, just the 10th player in @MLB history (first in O's history) to hit 3 grand slams in one calendar month.

He deserves better than what the 'O's' are capable of, or willing to deliver. Don't do to Manny what the Lions did to Barry Sanders! I get it, the O's success of the past are little more than sweet but fading memories. Angelos must go, period!

Randy SmithI am so sick and tired of reading the comments by the "fans" on this page. Everyone knows our team and its makeup. Everyone knows their strengths and weaknesses yet they talk every day as if a World Series was in our hands and lost by an inept manager or a power hitting first baseman who we just found out strikes out a lot. I stopped listening to the Orioles radio program because it was full of nothing but whiners and people who thought they knew better than the manager and GM. Now it looks like I'm just going to have to scroll past the Orioles fan page because it's all just the same. Pathetic.

Mark Harris Jr.Angelos will never try to win World Series. Pitching wins in baseball. Offense brings fans in stands and money in Angelos' pocket. When you wake up and realize that you wont be so emotional over a baseball team. When the Orioles actually get a pitching staff that makes players like Tillman a 4th or 5th starter where he should be in a roation and not the "ace" then and only then can they have a chance. Pitching is 1st line of defense, in war (which sports actually is, a war vs teams) if the 1st line of defense fails, you usually fold. Quit with the WS thoughts, and the whining, and the calling out of Buck, he can only play what hes given... We wont win it all until they aquire better pitching.

Christopher BestleWithout machado in this series and the so called powerful Orioles offense would have scored 4 runs. Gotta love in a critical series when Luis valbuena and his 194 batting average produces more than most of the Orioles offense. Next the Orioles get to face the powerful Oakland starting rotation of Chris Smith, Paul Blackburn, and Sean Manaea.

Avatar

Frank GoldenbergBeside not trusting Brach when the game is on the line, Chris Davis needs to sit on the bench the rest of the season. He struck out twice with the winning runs in position and again the tying run in position in the ninth. There has to be anyone in the system who doesn't have a bad track record.

Glenn SmithLike I've said before this organization based lineups, starting rotation moves, minor league back and forth of players ,trading of players and dl decisions ( hardy,Flaherty etc) on emotions not traditional baseball moves. Buck is hoping that Beckham tanks before Hardy gets back since he committed to him playing. That's my take with this club. Even if we make playoffs this year,we still have alot of players that be moving on.

Joe E. RitterUnlike Chris Davis who was way overpaid, and strikes out with the bases loaded the other night, Manny showed how it's done, PAY HIM WHAT HE DESERVES.

Scott DouglasI wish I could get as excited as I did as a kid when Steady Eddie would go deep three times. Seems like it was a bigger deal back that. THAT said, if the O's win, that's what counts!

Shirley Moyer SandersI don't see any good coming out of calling ANYONE or ANY player names. Are we adults? Is that what we want to teach the children? My opinion... it is SAD and UNKIND! Interesting that just a few short weeks ago fans were saying we should trade Machado and Schoop!???

Kevin BackusI liked what Manny said after AJ hit him with a whipped cream towel... we need more of that. Yes we do Manny yes we do. Of course Manny fake throwing Santander's first hit ball into the crowd was pretty special too.

Daniel Andres Rodriguez CorretjerAlways have to find something negative to say, even through a historic night for Manny. Can't you see that comments like that just cause dissenting feelings in the locker room? These guys need us to rally behind because they are so close from that wildcard game dudes!! Cmon! Give em' some cheer!

Paul SchmickUnless Kansas City, Milwaukee or Minnesota (he has history with all three) need a backup infielder the Orioles should consider offering a coaching position at the MLB level once he decides to hang up his spikes. Very much respected in the Orioles clubhouse and around MLB.
