Tom MyersHow about taking a stand to support quality starting pitching in the postseason instead. Or is that asking too much? Perhaps your stand should involve figuring out why the Yankees, at the time of this post, are one game away from winning the AL pennant against a team that cracked you people upside the head with a lead pipe in the ALDS. If MLB makes the same mistake the NFL made by forcibly inserting politics into people's entertainment, you may well pay the price. Remember that MLB has a much smaller margin for error than the NFL does.

Not only are they stupid and unnecessary as it’s making kids brittle and weak and snowflake-like...but more importantly baseball is about baseball and shouldn’t be used as a platform to exchange and debate views on social issues. Angela CainI was in between work projects in 2004 and I spent the summer at my parents. My dad being a lifelong Red Sox fan of course watched all season. We didn’t always get along but I did sit and watch the postseason with him. We watched every inning together. He wasn’t in the best health but he was an energetic kid watching that comeback. I’ll never forget him jumping out of his recliner and yelling at the tv!! How my mom slept through that I’ll never know. It’s my favorite memory of my dad. We became quite close and although I never got him to Fenway before he passed, when I visited, I hid a picture of him in the park. He’s of course wearing his Red Sox cap and laughing in the picture. I still tear up watching every highlight of those games. ❤️

This game was the start of an 8 game winning streak which culminated in their first championship since 1918. Kyle WortheyGame 4 was incredible, Game 5 was a life experience. Literally every pitch thrown by Wakefield in extra innings had me on the edge of my seat. Passed ball after passed ball, Yankees had base runners seemingly every inning, the ground rule double that saved a run....just such a great night for baseball in general. It overshadowed a great game happening in Houston as well. It's always going to be amazing to me how those 2 games started hours apart and finished within 20 minutes of each other. 2004 post season is unbeatable.

They did a killer job fighting off a red hot Yankees team to hold onto the division in September. Too bad the season didn't end the way I had hoped, but there are 22 other teams who would love to have made it as far as we did. Hopefully we can add the pieces we need to bring home another ring or two while our window of opportunity is open.

There 's nothing to cry about if there's still a chance that you can win the World Series. That's like arguing strike 2 when you're still in the middle of your at-bat. That will give the ump of wanting to call strike on you during the next pitch. Wait until strike 3. Please argue when you're already out. Like when Big Papi got him ejected during that game at Yankees Stadium last year for doing that. We don't want to watch I'm cry if his team is still in the playoffs.

Leo KendallHe got us three East championships first time ever by a Red Sox head coach. Got back to back east championships. Again a first. They won a World Series. 1 of 3 in about 100 years. Very few have done this. This past season they were dead last in home runs but went on and won their division. I'm pretty sure that hasn't happen in a very long time. He did a great job for a pitching coach and a small ball hitting team. Remember what happen after we lost Francona? It was a complete nightmare until we got Farrell. The team needs a few big hitters to really compete but I'm proud of this team and you so called fans should be as well. There were so many years where we only wished next year would be our year.

Now the Sox fire one of the best managers they have ever had( his record with the Sox speaks for itself) Are they looking to lose fan base? They need to make some better decisions! Very disappointed right now in management and ownership. They think they know it all! Prime example let's pay 30 plus million a year for David Price who hasn't performed for the Sox anywhere near what a 30 plus million dollar a year pitcher should be doing ! Enough said for me lol

Joshua JacksonI am proud and thankful for what John Farrell accomplished with the Red Sox. None of us fans will ever understand how difficult it is to manage a team. It is a results driven position that is filled with highs and lows. Fans criticize often and there is constant pressure to win every game. Sometimes you make the right gambles and decisions, and sometimes things backfire. Farrell had strong confidence in every player and worked hard to build each player up. He gave a lot to this team and I will miss him. I understand though that sometimes change is needed to move the team in a fresh and new direction. Aside from the manager search, this team needs to add power to the lineup. I see this being a busy off-season with a lot of moving and shaking of the lineup. It will be interesting to see what transpires.

Matt JohnsonIt's really sad to see Sox fans turn on their team because they exited against a better Astros team. Teams take time to develop. The core will be good for next year. Be proud that your team won the division and didn't have to play an extra game to get a series. The team is young and with injuries. That's sports, just be happy you have a trending up in the future. I don't think Farrell was the problem but then again I don't watch much sox baseball. As a yanks fan it pains me to see the fans turn on the team when they are just starting to come together.

I think this team needs a lot more work during the off season than some people realize - especially in the clubhouse. It was a good season, but we need to make some serious moves if they want to get over the hump - most notably a serious power bat.
