Francisco Santiago TomeiBaez is currently on an 8 game hitting streak. His defense is very valuable for this team but sadly some people just look at him and think strikeout king like if he were the guy that strikes out most on this team (not even close).. when you actually take the Cubs roster and take all players with atleast 50 game played this season, Baez is 4th.. and just for fun.. if you calculate it with just 35 games Baez would drop to 5th (Happ is the king of K's here) With 50+ games the honors would be Schwarber (1.17 per game), Bryant (.95), Contreras (.90), Baez (.83), Russell (.82) Happ (1.23) but he only has 38 games...

HΓ©ctor RoblesAnd to think Javi was learning how to play outfield 2 winters ago in Puerto Rico because he had no space in the Cubs infield. It's a blessing when your MVP 3rd baseman is playing LF, your SS is injured and the guy you play there is better defensively than your starter. This team just need some consistency at the plate and we'll be back for another tittle run.

Samuel WheatleyHR's are great.... but what happened to the play we had in 2016, where the Cubs did anything and everything to win games? Lester scoring the winning run on a bunt, bloop hits and line drives where they aren't to get doubles, even triples? We won the World Series on two doubles(one from Zobrist and one from Contreras). If it wasn't for those two doubles, Cleveland would've scored their 7th run in the bottom of the 10th and things would've been different. Can we get back to some more small ball? I'm not knocking HR's, but we need to play all aspects of offense. That is most likely a big part in our near .500 record so far.

Dan RookerJoe M - hope you are reading this - Javy needs to play every day. My recommendation is to platoon Almora and Jay in center, Javy at 2nd, Addy at short, Zobrist in left. Those 3 play 6 out of 7 games. Happ subs in on their days off, so he plays at least 3 out of 7 games. Or you could go with Happ as the every day player and use BZ as the rotational utility sub. And decide on a leadoff hitter for heaven's sake. We will not repeat with a revolving door at leadoff. I suggest your centerfield platoon - fast, selective, hitting for average (Jay and Almora). Time to solidify the lineup. You're welcome, no charge. Kenyon RookerHarrison NixLaure Rooker McKenna
