David ReeseWe live in Iowa. In 1976 we took a short vacation in KC and happened to drive by what was then Royals stadium. We decided to stop and see when the next game was which turned out to be that night vs. Detroit. Someone had turned tickets back in and we got 2 seats right behind the 3rd base dugout. The Royals won 10-0. Hal McRae hit a home run, some kid named Brett was playing 3rd base. We were addicted! Been to too many games to count over the years and even bucket listed game 1 of the 2014 World Series (phooey on Madison Bumgarner!). Our daughter was raised Royal and lives in the OP, goes all the time. Royals fans for life!

Kay Singleton LundgrenWe were visiting KC years ago and the game we attended went into extra innings and Royals won. We lived near St. Cloud, Minnesota, at the time and Jim Eisenreich was playing for the Royals. He had started with the Twins and was a favorite for us already, but hearing the young kids yelling "Ice Man" when he was on the field was amazing. Thank you Royals for helping him become a fan favorite.

John T LindseyI'm hoping this coming September (2018). My dad grew up in the KC area and I'm a Royals fan because of him. Growing up and living on the West Coast, I've only been to KC to visit family once or twice when I was much younger, but we didn't get to any games. This coming September, though, my dad and I will be traveling to hopefully catch a weekend back-to-back of the Royals and The Kansas City Chiefs (it will be my first time at any pro-sports event!). Since he's retired, this will probably be the only time we will watch the teams play in person (together) so I am super excited about it! Go Royals!!!

Late in the game a vendor stood before us and yelled out, "I don't want anyone to panic but I only have 50 frosty malts left!". I had to buy one from the guy. Love those KCR vendors.

Jeremy DowMy family won tickets to a Royals game when I was in the 4th grade... the game we won tickets for ended up getting rained out, so we purchased tickets for the next night and stayed the night in KC. The game starts and were in the nosebleeds, but my friend (who came with us) and I still have out ball gloves ready to catch the foul ball that wouldn't come our way. What makes the game memorable was the Grand Slam Hubbie Brooks hit to give the Royals the lead/win... Still the only Grand Slam I've seen in person to this day. Now comes the icing on the cake. My parents bought my friend and I a Royals hat. After the game, we're hanging around the end of the ramps near the exit with my mom, Glenda Jones, waiting for my dad to "come back from the bathroom." When he gets back he tells us to follow him, and he guides us down to the Royals dugout where Hubbie Brooks is giving autographs. My friend and I get our new hats autographed and we both still have them to this day.

Mark MinxBack in 85, the Chiefs were still kings by far in KC. At game 7, the Royals were ahead 10-0 when the crowd started chanting "Outscore the Chiefs". Apparently the Chiefs had lost at Denver 13-10 earlier and the baseball crowd was pissed about it. I thought, omg, we're fixing to win the World Series and these fans can't enjoy cuz of the Chiefs.

Alan McElderyIt was under a blazing sun, early September I believe. 1980; the KC boys of summer were playing the game better then anyone else in the league. The game was in the middle innings and Mr Brett was in the box. That year when George was batting it didnt matter who was pitching. This time he got a pitch he liked and shazzam, double, pop up slide into second. He may of been playing the best ball of his life. I was in the upper deck behind the plate. I snaped a picture of the spacious field of dreams, George standing on the bag, also in the pic was the scoreboard with the numbers for George, ba 412! There may of been 20 or 25 games left in the season and my imagination was aflame with the idea george was was going to hit 400 for the season.

Ryan HavertyI am glad Ned is okay as well. We can thank him for his time and now it is time to move on. Hire Girardi and prove to Hosmer and some of the others the Royals are committed to winning. Yost and Eiland grossly mismanaged the bullpen the last two seasons and it cost our team the playoffs. Everyone including the players know it. They may keep quite but they know deep down those two coaches cost them another shot at a championship. Yost probably only has 1 year or so left in him anyway. Thank him for his service, maybe give him a front office position of sorts but Girardi is who we need.

Chris RoarkI love seeing the new money Royals fans who jumped in in 2014 act like they understand the game. If they're going to rebuild, it would be a mistake to re-sign ANY of the core players. It would also be a mistake to sign any big name free agents. They need to find cheap 4-A guys to fill out the roster, look for 23-26 year old guys that haven't gotten a shot yet, and save money while they get high draft picks for a couple years. Unless they catch lightning in a bottle, they won't compete again until they get Kennedy and Gordon's contracts off the books. Until then, build up the farm system and try not to lose 100 games.
