Dan WebsterYou could see the Boston batters had trouble picking up his pitches until the ball was already out of his hand (same as our boys struggling v. Pomeranz last night). Great that Mejia spotted his pitches well.

Heidi HolstI am nominating my father, Dennis Olejniczak - he is the head baseball coach in Decorah, Iowa for the past 54 years. He is an Iowa HOF coach. The reason I am nominating him is his love for the field- he is at the field everyday preparing it for practice, games and to maintain the beauty of the facilities. He picks up garbage around the entire field, he racks the mound and the catcher's box. The tarp is pulled in and off the pitchers mound to keep it optimal for the players. He also takes his work home with him, he is out working on his lawn when at home. Please consider having my Dad help with the grounds crew and throw out the first pitch at a twins game - it would be an honor he wouldn't forget.

Zac EvinsLife long Twins fan from Arkansas. Will be in town all next week of the 7th for my sister and brother in law moving to Rochester. Already have plans to catch a couple Twins games. I have been traveling to see the Twins play my whole life and have been watching other grounds crews for decades while catching the Twins on the road (KC, Tex, STL). I have recently started my own lawn care business and have always wanted to be a part of the great team that has the dream job of maintaining the stage for americas past time. Would love the opportunity to take part in this while I'm in town next week. I'll be there checking out a couple games regardless. It's tough sometimes being a Twins fan from 646 miles away but with today's technology I don't miss many games. Thanks for giving fans the opportunity to be a part of this. See y'all next week! 🙂

Jino Lynn StonerThe groundskeepers are overlooked. We go to games and look at the beautiful field and have no idea what it takes to make it look pristine. I'd like to know what it takes to be a groundskeeper so the next time I go to see the Twins play I will know exactly all the hard work it took to make Target Field look beautiful. ❤️

Chris KlettOnly a true baseball fan appreciates the artistry that goes into prepping a field for baseball. No other sport's playing surface needs the care, attention and detail that a "ballfield" needs. Mowing the grass to the exact height, chalking a line that isn't off by a 1/4-inch all the way from home plate to first, smoothing the mound even if the starter will destroy it within a half inning. In my son's traveling ball, we'd arrive one hour early - him to warm up and me to unlock the box and start working on the field. The other dads and I would text each other pictures of our chalk lines and batter's circles to show off our skills - or lack thereof. And every true FMT (Field Maintenance Technician) does the same thing before stepping off the field just as the game is about to begin: He turns to admire his work and appreciates that fact that one hour prepping a field is 100 times more satisfying than 8 hours behind a desk at the office. Now sit back and enjoy the greatest game ever invented.

Tena LiudahlNominating my husband, Matt Liudahl. Every time we visit Target Field he admires the grounds crew's hard work and beautiful results. His dream for retirement is to work at Target Field, in any capacity! Matt puts a ton of effort into taking care of our acre sized yard. If he could figure out how to mow the Twins logo into the middle of it, then it would be perfect! Go Twins! ⚾️😎

Landon BaillargeonI am 16 years old, I have always loved going to the ballpark and smelling the fresh cut grass and raking the field after our team practices. There's nothing better for a baseball player to walk on to a taken care of field. I love going behind the scenes and learning how things go. It would be amazing to learn some tips for the future when and if I coach and take care of our teams field!

Matt GundersonWithout them working with grounds the twins would not have the kind of field they have. In my opinion its one of the best in baseball and I'd love to learn from the guys that make it look so nice and i would love to do that myself for your team that I love.

Ben FlikeidThat would be awesome! I love baseball but didn't/don't have the chops to make it as a player. I love being at the field and have always been the type of employee that is behind the scenes, getting stuff done, making sure things look good for the customer (internal or external) and keeping things confidential. I am also a perfectionist. Go Twins!

Jake RandolphI would love it for the fact that I am amazed on how they do the different designs on the field, how they make the grass look different in the outfield. It would also be great to learn something like this for our local little league fields. Of course there is no way you could learn everything in a day. But the experience would be amazing.

Jody LarsonI love the Twins and all that they do for not just their organization but for baseball in MN. I personally am not who would love to help set up the game, I am entering for my husband and son. My son Wyatt is 9 years old and has such an appreciation for the game. He plays baseball in our small town and once when I asked him why he loves the game He said "it is everything. From the way that the field smells to the way you get anxious when you are up to bat. The way your hands feel on the bat or when you run or catch a ball" he loves the game so fully! He would be amazed to just be invided to see the game.

Andy DrausMy wife tells me that I'm not a details-oriented person. But it's apparent that the Twins' groundskeepers pay attention to every minute detail, to keep Target Field looking as impeccable as it is. I'd convince her that this one-day immersion session would do wonders for me. And if she'd believe that, going forward, our yard would be looking as good as the one Joe Mauer spends his summers on, that could only lead to good things here...

Lesly BornmannI am also a daughter of Dennis Olejniczak and second my sister Heidi's nomination. At 77 years old he continues to inspire, teach and lead a team of young men. He has them alongside him after practice and home games grooming the field. Taking it to the next level Target Field would be an opportunity of a lifetime. There is no one more worthy. Thank you for your consideration. Go TWins

Conrad PetersonI remember my first Twins game and was in complete awe of how perfect the field looked and how much bigger it was in person than when you would see it on TV. Alex NajafalipourNo grounds crew? No baseball. Home field advantage is real, and those guys play a huge part of making that a reality. Dan WebsterThe boys need some food that stops them from swinging with their shoulders, looking for the long-ball, when they need to get back to bat-control with their forearms. More punch-and-protect is needed. Notice how each Red Sox hitter can get 7(plus) pitches in their plate appearance. That's Productive Plate Appearances at work--and is part of each Red Sox player's contract.
