Timothy CloudBregman’s throw home has to be #1, if he hesitated or was just a little off target the Yankees score a run and have two on with one out. That was definitely was the turning point of the game.

Robbert LohmannNo. 4 and 1 don’t belong here. Neither are good defensive plays. One is taking an easy catch awa from a teammate with the risk if screwing it up, while the other has symbolic value, but is not special!

14 minutes ago   ·  1
Avatar

Patrick MarchandYeah if the play to end the game and the series is #1 then Bregman’s throw has to be #1. The timing and throw and catch were perfect and it changes the game completely. As does Judge’s catch but it wasn’t going to be a homerun while Bird would’ve scored if there was something off with that play.

Avatar

Derek LinkhorstI'm honestly confused at how everyone thinks Bregmans play is fantastic defense? To me it's a no brainer to throw home when the runner is breaking and your momentum is taking you that way. He didn't make an all star play, he simply did his job..

Remco van GennipNew York, NY (AP) - Oct 22, 2017 A seven-year old boy was at the center of a New York courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulation requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible. The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him. After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him. After two recesses to check legal references and confer with the child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the New York Yankees, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.

Justus Caeden DanielsenIt’s been a great ride this year with the Yankees. As a die hard fan it’s tough to see them lose, but I know that this isn’t the end but the beginning of something special in the years to come. Everyone doubted us, but we didn’t doubt ourselves. This postseason was defined by the improbable. The whole playoffs whenever we were down we had the ability to bounce back. There is no doubt in my mind that is what we will do next year. This young core of players have great heads on their shoulders and will learn from this experience. What an amazing job not just by the players this year but by the front office (Brian Cashman) with “rebuilding” but still being very competitive. Doing pretty much the equivalent of what are opponents did in several years in one year and avoiding having to lose 100 games a year in the process. Congratulations to the Houston Astros on a great series. They fought hard and played better when it mattered most. They have a great core of young players as well and I don’t think this is the last we will see of them in the playoffs.

Fernando RamosThey deserve to win. Girardi screwed it up.. He didnt go to the Starters.. When it was 1st and 3rd he didnt order the bunt. The yankees went after verlander first pitch yesterday.. They thought it would work today on a guy who hardly throws first strikes.. And even though he did the yanks chased it..for the strike... He did not go to his bench he played this game like if this was game 6... Bad Management By Girardi... Big Time.. The Entire Astros Line up got a hit today.. The whole Team... Thats Girardi Fault 100 percent....

Jason MuchnickThe Yankees played so far over their heads, it's almost unthinkable. The Astros were the on-paper favorite to win the World Series coming into the playoffs, and for this ridiculously inexperienced team to take them to 7 games is alone a fine achievement. The home team (will have) won every game, so you can by no means call this a dominant performance by the Astros. But they deserved home field due to their regular season success, and deserve to win. I will be rooting for them in the World Series. I think Joe Girardi is a fantastic manager, and he's part of the reason why they even had this opportunity. That said, I don't think you have to be an expert to declare there is no explanation for leaving Kahnle on the mound so long. It's Game 7; every resource is available, and the coffers are far more full for the Yankees. I will look forward to his explanation of what could be considered a major managerial gaffe. So beyond that one very big question, I tip my cap to this new breed of Yankees. There are a lot of names, homegrown and acquired, that fans are learning to love. Judge, Sanchez, Frazier, Severino, Gregorius, a new appreciation for Brett Gardner the vet. This was great... In the "rebuilding year," the Yankees built quite a palace. Thanks for the memories.

Mike RuizAs a Dodger fan, I’d like to congratulate the Astros on a series well played. I just don’t understand why the fans are so cocky going into the World Series, though. You guys do realize that you just went 7 games against a Wild Card team, right? And you had to close it out with a starting pitcher with a 4 run lead. That move does not exude confidence in your bullpen. It’s going to be a tough series for both teams definitely. But, the Astros will definitely have their handful with a LA team that is firing on all cylinders right now. Plus, their already lit bats are going to get hotter when they get to Houston and get to throw another strong hitter in that DL spot. How well do Keuchel and Verlander swing that bat? Guess we’ll find out on Tuesday and Wednesday. Good luck!

Willis Holden SheederYou know what I'd like to see? After the initial victory celebration I'd love to see the losing team come out of the dugout, line up and shake hands with the victorious team. By doing this I think it helps fans that are upset about their team losing and it makes fans see that these are good men out there just playing a game. But it seems we live in a cyber world where fans of teams are much happier seeing other fans upset than they are actually seeing their own team win. P.S. I'm a fan of neither of these teams

Tracy BluebirdEric Byrnes was holding a bat like an electric guitar. He is a distraction to baseball. I can't even listen to anything he says, I am just wondering how many Red Bulls he has had, whether his face is going to explode, if he might spit on one of his colleagues when talking, and think about what color he might dye his hair??? Please shave your upper lip, it is just weird! As a teen would say, you are so extra, I want some MATURE, INTELLIGENT, Tim Kurkjian-like commentary on baseball not having to filter Byrnes attention getting antics out if the discussion. MLB network is the only channel I am willing to pay extra for. When the world series is over, I am about to cancel. Excited for Astros. They will do what baseball does, winn or lose, heal a city.

Joshua RossThat would be extremely foolish if they throw Verlander. If they want to mess his arm up, go for it. The guy threw over 100 pitches in game 2 and the last 2 innings last night for him weren’t exactly a cake walk, albeit he got out of both situations unscathed. I know all hands are on deck in a game 7 situation but, to me, it just seems like no good can come out of it. What do I know though, I’m just a fan lol.
