So, Rhys Hoskins is pretty good at this whole baseball thing, huh?

Enjoy his fifth homer in just his 11th career MLB game.

Luis MalavΓ©This team can be a playoff team in 2019 if things go right, but they need A LOT of pitching help. It's safe to say right now Nola, Eichhoff and Lively are good choices to keep in the rotation moving forward. They need a true #1 (although Nola has been pitching like one lately) and they need a reliable back-end starter. The bullpen, they need to just drop a bomb on it and start from scratch. A shut-down closer is a must! The offensive I think can turn into something similar we saw from 05-10. I would like to see: 2B Hernandez SS Galvis RF Williams 1B Hoskins LF Altherr 3B Kingery (Until he gets his feet wet then move him up) CF Herrera C Alfaro At this point I would trade Crawford because of all the middle infielders, I think he's the odd man out. Cozens has potential--if he improves maybe he takes an outfield spot or a power hitter off the bench who can pop one here and there.

Michael CaseLooks like they are pointing to Galvis' dirty rear in the graphic haha...anyways I am curious as to why they don't just see what Cozens can do, both Williams and Alfaro were "struggling" before they came up...Cozens hasn't been the same since the Hoskins talk and subsequent promotion. Maybe he is just bored. You can only do so much in AAA before you're just spinning your wheels. Rather see him then Florimon who is just a roster filler and no part whatsoever of the future plans.

I think w Alfaro, Hoskins, Kingery and Machado on the infield with Galvis or Crawford at short, Hernandez as the new Blanco, and then Altherr, Williams and Herrera (as a hold until Trout in 2 years) they would be ok if they get themselves a stud pitcher or a #2 and tons of bullpen arms, including a closer, say a Wade Davis.

Dennis MathiasThe real issue is the young players have not developed this year as hoped/expected. We are really in no mans land. Somewhere between "please let them start to show pro level impact ability" and "it's time to blow up this group and start over". Keep in mind most of the current fringe major leaguers are from trades. Obviously you never get no doubters in trades. And we have really only been in rebuild mode since 2013. Think of how long the Cubs, Stros and Nats were bad until they got enough solid young talent. We haven't been bad long enough yet. I know it feels like it but thats the new baseball. Build from within. A very risky approach. I would not want to be a GM in this new model.

Steven FosterHow about Alfaro at catcher and Hoskins at first base? Their actual positions. I don't understand the love for Jospeh and Rupp, especially at the expense of the development of two of the organization's best prospects. You might as well have left them in Lehigh Valley so they at least could contend for a championship.

John SzaboIf I had to venture a guess, it appears that roster spot #25 is going to be Dylan Cozens, since they signed Christian Marrero to a minor-league deal. Means that sometime soon we'll be seeing the OF rotation for next year.

Bob FanucciI'm watching the second inning. He hits the number 7 hitter, walks the 8th hitter, and walks the pitcher. This is big league baseball. If you can't throw a strike, find another job.

Jack StoreyActually Bill 1B is where most expect Alfaro to end up playing. He is awful as a reciever and calling games. His bat is his value and 1B is the most logical move. That said with this roster throwing the names in a hat may not be the worst idea, lol.

Ray ParkerThis is the time of year when losing teams play prospects and sit or release veterans that are not playing well. Phillies ownership needs to look into a new GM and manager who are committed to winning in the future.

Mike MaleckiScore at least 1 run in the top of the 1st so that Eickhoff has something to work with or at least feels as though the team playing behind him has a pulse.
