Keith ButkovichI was in Atlanta on that Sunday in May when Pham hit that HR in the 14th inning. When he was running to his spot in left to start the bottom of the inning, several fans dressed in Cardinals gear were cheering him on. Tommy saw this, and beat his heart with his fist, and of course they loved it. Most players would ignore fans, especially in a visiting park, but he realized these people were cheering him on, and he let them know how much he appreciated it. This will stay in my mind for a long time. Certainly one of the good guys in the sport.

Levi KellyEveryone brings up valid points about the lineup, but the most important part of this lineup is the number 9 spot. Why is he still in the rotation this time through, when it's obvious that he's gassed and has nothing left?! He's even said so!! Look at the stats over the last couple of months and they're astoundingly poor and trending in the wrong direction. If we are not in a pennant race, so be it. If we are, then it makes no sense to run this guy out there to get bombed again. Give him a start off or, better yet, DL him for 10 days.

Mike DaileySit our most productive player (Pham) in favor of a guy you had to send down (Piscotty), sit a guy who has been crushing the ball lately (Martinez), and hand the ball to a pitcher who has zero stuff over his last 8 starts, is obviously gassed and has nearly a 2.00 whip since the all-star break (Leake). Oh, and do this all in the middle of a pennant race and a nationally televised game. I could throw a beach ball in any Wal-Mart and hit someone who could make better decisions than Matheny.

Pog Mo ThoinFirst off i hate that the game is on Espn, they do such a horrible job of calling a game and usually not very Cards friendly. Second i understand Piscotty was called up for the 26th spot but he should be pinch hitting unless Pham is hurt, we're in a playoff chase and need our best players out there, again assuming Pham is not hurt. And third Leake should be on a short leash, if it starts to go south he needs pulled before he gives up more runs than they can make up. Go Cards!

Joshua MonroeAh ESPN, let's talk about anything, ANYTHING, other than the game at hand. Oh yes, let's listen to that gasbag of a commissioner pretend to like a game he's actively trying to ruin... sounds like a wonderful broadcast.

Randy T CardinalsPham can't play everyday non stop everyone needs a day off. He will earn the rest. Pinch hit role Piscotty needed a mental break mom has ALS. let's hope he is focused he is a wonderful player when right Gyrko second half struggles are well documented. This Cardinal team is completely over achieving with this lineup and pitching staff. They are in need of at least one more big bat and one more lefty ace.

J.T. ShuckThis team is a pretender this year. They are complete a tease. They will not make the playoffs. They had a nice little run but that's all it was. Have played extremely mediocre against the other teams in the division this year and a very poor road trip.

Angie IeI understand giving players a day to rest and giving other players a chance to play, but a part of me is disappointed that some of the players that really embody the spirit of this weekend aren't starting tonight.
