Justin SmithPeople need to come to grips with the fact that this team just isn't that good. Mo needs to sell at the deadline, fire Matheny, and go hard after Machado and others this offseason, and actually SIGN one of them instead of his usual 'We gave it a run' speech after the team is outbid.

Check this out.. Here is an example of what Adams has done: He's arguably the hottest hitter in the majors right now, slashing .410/.455/.949 over his last 10 games with six homers and 16 RBI. FIRE MATHENY !!! and take Mazeliak with him for letting him get away with this Khoury League manager !!!! Players have lost all respect and confidence in Matheny, coaches and the whole organization. You can't blame them.

John ManestarHa ha ha. Matheny is so predictable. Batting 230 hitting, slow footed Carpenter leading off and your fastest player Pham batting 2nd. Oh yeah and having the very slow footed Molina, with his barely 700 OPS hitting 5th. Idiot!

Avatar

Jason CurryI'm not a big Mike Matheny fan by any stretch of the imagination. He gets outmanaged more often than not. However, there are things beyond his control. He ought to be able to have a bullpen he can rely on. And to not have a lights out 8th and 9th inning guy is killing this team. The free-agent market was weak last offseason. Unfortunately it's going to be until next offseason that they can get some new talent. Their farm system is mediocre, which limits the return via trade. And with Reyes and Kelly seemingly untouchable, who are you going to trade that would get you an elite player? This team needs an elite player.

Today’s #STLCards Fan of the Day is Vicki.

Vicki was a devoted fan of the Cardinals for over 50 years, and her world revolved around watching her ballgames. She would plan her entire day around it, sit down with her martini and watch the ballgame every single night without fail - that is unless she went to Busch Stadium to watch in person.

Vicki passed away on October 15 at a young 70 years of age. She loved a few things in life: her family, her friends, and Cardinals baseball. Memorial donations at her funeral even went directly to Cardinals Care. She loved the Cardinals, she loved baseball, and she loved helping people.

Matheny tried to ruin Matt Adams but thankfully the Braves have played him and he is producing. How many more great players is Matheny going to ruin by benching these guys. John ShepherdMM has one guy he can leave in there til the end - Martinez. World class stuff, an easy motion. I dont think you can hurt him or wear him out. Treat him like Gibby. He's your guy. Aside from Martinez, yank em when the 1st guy reaches base in a one/two run game after the 5th, because MM almost always leaves them in long enough to either a) lose the game and b) blow the stats they built over 5 or more innings on the hill. And screw Lilliquist. He hasn't helped one guy since the day he got the job. A pitching coach zero.

Ryan StewartPham is really fun to watch and Martinez got robbed tonight of a really deserved win. This bullpen is worthless I was down on cecil early this year but its not been so bad lately but OH and rose have been bad all year and the only time they do half way decent is when the lead is either so big it doesn't matter or the team is getting destroyed and they just come in for some work to fill innings.

Matt McGlinnAnother wasted performance by Carlos Martinez, find some arms that can get things done in the bullpen!! Mr. Mozeliak , past time to prove you are a worthy GM for the Cardinals.

Sheresa Smith ExumWhy is Diaz turning into a part time player lately?? I want Carpenter somewhere, but I sure wish we could get him off first. 2nd would be best, but there seems to be an ever-growing crowd there. Wish we had a big hitter for 1st that plays 1st really well. Oh wait...we did...Mo sent him to the Braves...for NOTHING. #moepicfailnumber997

Joey MccuneI like the lineup wish they would move grichuk to 4 gyroko to 5 and Molina to 6 or 7 but all in all this looks like a winning line up especially since Diaz is in a little slump right now

Jeff LockamyThis team is badly coached. Matheny has no idea what he is doing and even where to turn. Our bullpen is a mess and has no direction or structure. Soon as a player starts to get hot straight to the bench. It seems as like Matheny wants this team to fail. So when we start firing do we start with the GM down or just the coach?

Fred R BlalackPham just might be the next great Cardinal leadoff hitter. Why not give him the chance? Carpenter, great player that he has been, should be hitting 7th or 8th until he can get his average up to .270-.275.

Phillip Wayne JohnsonEveryone is complaining about the Adams trade, but we gotta consider that he is hitting in a friendly ball park and he wasn't gonna get consistent playing time in St. Louis

Terri DennisWhy is Matheny leaving Trevor Blows-em-all in there? Guess he wants to see him give this game away too!!! After all, he is one of Matheny's favorites!!!!!!!!! MM, get your head out of your ******!!! Wish the Cards would trade him so Matheny can't use him, since he is one of MM's favorites -- for whatever reason!! If you're going to use him MM, at least have someone warming up the second Blows-em-all sets foot on the field. That way you can pull him and have someone ready to go!! And if you insist on using him, make sure we are at least five (5) runs or more ahead!! I just don't get it!!

Carey MacGregorYou younger Cards fans that don't understand the frustration felt by older fans; watch the Nats play. Stealing bases, hit and run plays, just a fun team to watch! They remind me so much of Cards teams from years gone by. And they wear red!

Jacob ColeWhat does anyone expect as a result of this game? A team that has a 22 game above 500 record playing one of the bottom feeders of the lowly national league central which is obviously the worst division in baseball? And it is good to see rosey during the past few games has returned to 2016 form. Only a great play kept him from losing the game. This team is the worst team in baseball, but listen to big al hrabosky, he'll tell you rosey just needs to work out of it. How pathetic the team is from owners, to big mo, to I don't know where I am matheny, to a goofy looking pitching coach to a team that does not know the fundamentals of how to play baseball. It isn't going to be a long season because they will be out of it by the all star game.

Terri DennisCome on Carlos, show the D-backs your stuff! Let's GO CARDS and win this one tonight!! I'd love to see Luke Voit at 1st base to see how good he is or isn't. This lineup is good because the middle of the order is staying the same most of the time now. I like Gyorko/Molina following each other. I agree w/others that Matt Adams wasn't given a fair shake last season or this season after losing weight and getting in better shape. Before trading him, they should have let him play every day to see what he could do. Our loss, their gain. I hope Grichuk makes it this time around. When he's hot, he's hot and I hope he stays that way now. ⚾😊⚾😊
