Keith BlanckWell Steve it;s 6:20 pm ,now on Sunday I saw on face Book and read and herd from the media ,the Rays would do a fire sale at these meetings ,get rid of everyone ,well where is it ,the Rays unlike the Marlins have not made one big trade nothing they have done nothing ,now maybe the Rays are asking too much for archer longo colume and others but that's their right you can't just give your players away ,for nothing ,if the Rays are asking for all your top prospects for a player that's their right ,or could be the other team is asking for too much and the Rays won't give it too them ,again their right ,now if the Rays were going to do a fire sale like the Marlins ,you would think some of the big players would be gone by now ,I don't see the Rays doing deal at these meetings now ,will wait till after them then do something ,maybe next year ,now I don't see no fire sale ether if the Rays were going to do it like Marlins ,and believe me the Rays see what they are doing they would have done it by now ,so no fire sale my bet archer stays longo stays ,no fire sale ,

Cliff LovasProbably won't recognize the Rays this spring. The Rays just want to cut payroll. Well, they'll be saving me money as well. Wont be paying to see a bunch of minor leaguers play. Trade away all the key players and it will be real empty at the Trop. Not that they will be able to compete with Boston and NY. Baseball needs a salary cap. Small market teams have no shot.

Ned JohnsonThe Tampa Bay Times seemed to back the rumors of dismantling the team and starting over again, citing what the Cubs and Astros achieved. What the writers failed to point out in depth is that the Rays' history indicates the team would NEVER go out and get a Justin Verlander or Jon Lester (plus other higher-priced free agents) in a pennant chase...It always seems to be about the future. As for the Yankees, they are only doing what they've done forever, and we've competed with them before. Don't panic: pitch the sluggers low and away and watch them walk back to the dugout. But whatever you do, allow the face of the franchise to remain a Ray -- Evan Longoria remains a bargain and, based on third basemen stats, is headed to the Hall of Fame. Build around him. I've been a Rays' fan since before opening night and hope to continue.

Alex SchmidConsistently throwing the ‘smaller market’ team mantra in the faces of Rays fan is so tiresome. The organization started in 98. It was acceptable in the earlier years but the Rays are coming up on year number 20. There is no one to blame but themselves for remaining at the Trop in year 20 drawing 12k a night creating a need for minute payroll when you play in a division with 3 other major market teams - Yankees, Red Sox, Jays -who are capable of having players on their roster of salaries larger than the Rays entire payroll.

Jason BashlineI was a season ticket holder for years. 2 years ago I gave up my seats. I refuse to buy jerseys with players names on the back because I know in a few years they won't be on the team any longer. When I do go to the park I eat before entering....... I only Go to games when I get free tickets.... and I try to get free parking always. I will continue to spend as little as possible while enjoying the games. My reason behind the madness is bc if the owners refuse to spend money.... I will refuse to spend my hardworking money on The Rays.

Scott GearhartI cancelled my season tickets last week, I have been going to games for decades and supporting the team. I can't take it anymore. Keep harpooning the team and treating it like the stock traders you are. Perhaps it's an angle to get the team moved, perhaps there will be little to no support left for the team once you do get it moved either locally or elsewhere. You all should be ashamed of yourselves.

John McMurdoGo Bolts! The small market hockey team figured it out. Bottom line the Rays don’t want to spend enough money. Baseball is almost ruined because there is no cap. Until this is fixed small market teams will continue to sell off players and large market teams will eat everything up. I don’t blame them at all. It’s MLB’s problem to fix. But it will be fun to watch the Yankees spend all this money and choke again 😂

But in this MLB economy, how could that ever happen again?

Nathan WhiteIt’s got to the point where I am ready for my rays to get out of Tampa and become a real competitor. It is getting ridiculous. We have had many opportunities at having a shot but our owner blows every chance he gets. If you don’t care about winning it all, then why did we push an idea of a baseball team in tampa. Please, for the sake of all rays fans, expand your wallet or cut the cord.

LeRoy SwinyerHow about keeping an "Open Mindset" about putting a playoff team on the field so you build a bigger fan base in the "small market"... paying a minor league team to compete against major league teams is cheap, and un-professional... but it's obvious... that's the Rays' ownership's "open mindset".
